Lucas the Stag welcomed students and their families as they arrived on campus and officially joined the Fairfield University community. First-year students, transfer students and their families were assisted by over 400 volunteers, including staff from multiple departments as well as students, student-athletes, new student leaders, resident advisors, student government leaders, and the Spirit Squad.

“Our Fairfield University community—student leaders, staff, and faculty—came together to ensure an effective and efficient move-in for our families,” said stated Kamala Kiem, associate dean of students and director of Student Engagement, who also noted that the rain couldn't damper their spirits.

The first two weeks at Fairfield are part of Fall Welcome full of activities to help new students get acclimated to their new home. From varsity games, a dodgeball tournament, and bowling, to the activities fair, movie night, and a Yankee Game, there are entertaining activities for just about every student.
