Thank you, Veterans, from Fairfield University

Thank you, Veterans, from Fairfield University

This Veterans Day, we say thank you to those men and women who have served this country, and particularly to those veterans who are an integral part of the history of the Fairfield University community.

Fairfield University is committed to the Jesuit mission of service to others, and perhaps one of the most dedicated groups to uphold that mission are the men and women of Fairfield University and Fairfield College Preparatory School who have served, and who continue to serve, our country in the armed services.

Founded as a preparatory school in 1942 by the Society of Jesus, Fairfield’s first all-male class of 303 University level students entered in 1947 — many of whom had returned from their service in World War II. In the years to follow, veterans of the Korean conflict and other conflicts and peacetime service have been part of the Fairfield University story. In recognition and appreciation of the University’s unique, foundational tie to veterans, the University offers a a variety of benefits to veterans who attend Fairfield , over and above those provided by the Veterans Administration.

This Veterans Day, we say thank you to those men and women who have served this country, and particularly to those veterans who are an integral part of the history of the Fairfield University community.
