Tim Gunn to Share His Expertise as Part of Quick Center’s Signature Lecture Series

Best known as Emmy award-winning co-host, mentor and producer of Lifetime’s Project Runway, Tim Gunn will join us on October 14 at the Quick Center for the Arts for the 10th annual Student Forum in collaboration with the Open VISIONS Forum. This is the first Open VISIONS Forum of the Quick Center’s 25 th anniversary season titled “Fashion Today and Designing Your Future Life and Careers.”

Tim Gunn has held a number of acclaimed positions in the world of fashion, including fashion dean at Fifth & Pacific, chief creative officer at Liz Claiborne Inc. and member of the administration and faculty at Parsons School of Design for 29 years. In addition, Gunn is a New York Times best-selling author, penning Gunn’s Golden Rules: Life’s Little Lessons for Making it Work and Tim Gunn’s Fashion Bible: The Fascinating History of Everything in Your Closet.

Dr. David Gudelunas, associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences expressed his excitement on behalf of the University: “Tim Gunn is a fashion icon and we expect his appearance on campus to be equally iconic. More than just a fixture of the reality television zeitgeist, Gunn is an educator and so he is a natural fit for the Open VISIONS stage. Students know that fashion is not an afterthought, it is part of our collective identities, and we are excited to introduce students to one of the most influential voices in the fashion world.”

Featuring notable speakers addressing a rich spectrum of ideas and trend-setting topics, the Open VISIONS Forum is Fairfield University’s signature lecture series. Modeled on the hallowed tradition of the New England town hall meeting, it brings world-respected opinion-makers in a series of enriching and engaging public conversations.

General Admission is $45 and $5 for Fairfield University students. For tickets, visit quickcenter.com or call the box office at 203-254-4010 or toll free at 1-877-ARTS-396.
