Students Vie for $20,000 in Business Plan Competition

Eight teams of students from across the University’s schools will make their last pitches for up to $20,000 in start-up funds in the 4 th annual Business Plan Competition Finale on Tuesday, March 31 in the Dolan School of Business Dining Room. Students, staff, faculty and the public are invited to this free event, which begins at 6 p.m. The winners are expected to be announced at 7:30 p.m.

Having survived the semifinal round of 14, each team will get six minutes to pitch their plan for a new business – with ideas ranging from a pedicab service for college campuses to a ranking program for fantasy sports players to a social movie app for Bollywood film fans. The teams will cover their value proposition, partners, revenue stream, cost structure and more. A panel of venture capital experts and entrepreneurs will judge the plans and award up to $20,000 to the teams they believe have the most viable plan.

Reservations are required for this event. RSVP to businessplan@fairfield.edu or (203) 254-4307.
