Fairfield Women’s Basketball to Begin MAAC Championship Play Tonight

The Fairfield University women’s basketball team opens action at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship on Friday night at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. The Stags tip off with Niagara tonight, Friday, March 6, at 9:30 p.m.

As the third seed in the MAAC, Fairfield earned a bye into the quarterfinal round. The Purple Eagles, who are the sixth seed in the tournament, advanced with a First Round win over Manhattan by a score of 57-51 on Thursday.

The winner of Friday’s matchup moves on to a semifinal against either second-seeded Marist or 10th-seeded Saint Peter’s on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

The MAAC Championship Game is scheduled for Monday, March 9 at 4:30 p.m . and will air live to a national television audience on ESPNU.
