Fairfield Named Among Top 50 Schools for Highest Salaries After Graduation

Business Insider has named Fairfield University among the top in the nation for producing graduates who earn among the highest salaries. The report is based on a study completed by the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce, which looked at “four year colleges whose students go on to earn the highest salaries in the labor market 10 years after beginning their studies.”

Within the top 50, Fairfield ranked 33 rd with recent graduates' median earnings of $69,000. Among the Jesuit universities ranked, Fairfield was ranked second only to Georgetown. Among Catholic universities ranked in the top 50, Fairfield was ranked the highest after Georgetown, Villanova, and Notre Dame.

The study used information from the newly redesigned College Scorecard, a web tool designed to help prospective students learn about different colleges and programs. The study’s data focused on salary information as well as academic preparation and each school’s distribution of majors.

“At Fairfield University our academic programs work closely with Career Development to make sure that our students have the skills to be competitive in the marketplace,” said Lynn Babington, Provost & Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. “We are proud that a Fairfield University education places our students in a very competitive position for high paying jobs.”

This ranking is the latest in a series of recent top rankings for Fairfield, including state and national rankings for the University’s undergraduate and graduate accounting programs from Accounting Degree Review . Fairfield was also named one of the top 10 schools for beach lovers by Money Magazine .
