Fairfield Stags Volleyball Team Heats Up

Two-time defending MAAC champions, the Fairfield Volleyball team is heating up in their bid for a third consecutive conference title. After a slow start in the conference, the Stags have broken Marist and Rider’s conference winning streaks, defeating the previously first-place teams in back-to-back matches.

Along the way, Camille Coffey (Sierra Madre, CA) became the 14th Stag in program-history to reach the 1,000 dig milestone as Fairfield defeated Saint Peter’s earlier this month. "A thousand digs is a great accomplishment," Head Coach Todd Kress said. "The entire team is happy for Camille on such an accomplishment, and that it came during a road win."

Additionally, first-year student Megan Theiller (Hopewell Junction, NY) has earned four MAAC Rookie-of-the-Week honors, which is one shy of the program record. Theiller recorded a career-high 21 kills against Saint Peter’s and notched her fifth double-double of the season. She is making a strong case to earn MAAC Rookie of the year honors.

Caitilin Stapleton (Milford, CT) is quickly closing in on becoming the 12 th player in program history to achieve 1,000 kills in her career. Stapleton was MAAC Rookie of the Year in 2011.
