Alumni Family Weekend and ASN Induction Recap

The Tradition Continues

The tradition continued as families from near and far brightened Fairfield’s campus during Alumni & Family Weekend held Oct. 24-26. Parents, families and alumni were welcomed with gorgeous weather and embraced the true community atmosphere that our campus offers. Alumni relished in nostalgic memories of their time at Fairfield University when they were undergraduate students.

Kamala Kiem, director of Student Programs & Leadership Development reports, “Attendance was very strong at many of our events!  There were 4,330 tickets/reservations made ahead of time, 663 attendees registered online for an event, and we had waiting lists for the comedian and Glee Club events! True community atmosphere, some families were returning tickets they plan to not use since they knew there was a waiting list.”

Some of the weekend’s highlights included:

- A sampling of local restaurants, Beer Garden (new this year!) and Lil' Stags Zone at the Taste of Fairfield
- Stag Stampede (Fun Run) through campus
- Young Alumni Event at the Grape
- Comedian Hypnotist Jim Spinnato - Sold out!
- Ghost Hunter John Zaffis from SyFy's Hit Show Haunted Collector- Sold out!
- A traditional Sunday brunch on campus
- Athletic events including Field Hockey and Men’s Soccer, Lacrosse, Swimming & Diving, and Volleyball
- The always popular Glee Club Concert- Sold out!

Alumni and current undergraduates also had plenty of opportunities to connect at a Young Alumni event at The Seagrape where over 125 young alumni were in attendance, to a “Successfully Managing Your Career” III alumni panel on Saturday. Current and former student leaders were also able to interact at the Student Leadership Reception.
