Bennett Center brings Columnist Esther Jungreis to Fairfield

The Carl and Dorothy Bennett Lecture in Judaic Studies will open the spring series of events with a lecture on Tuesday, March 4, by best-selling author and columnist Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis , a Holocaust survivor and founder of the international Hineni Heritage Center. The lecture, “The Jewish Soul on Fire,” begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Dolan School Dining Room.

Esther Jungreis was born in Hungary and came to the United States after surviving the Nazi’s Bergen Belsen concentration camp. Determined to devote her life to fighting the spiritual holocaust among Jews, the Rebbetzin founded the Hineni Heritage Center, a New York City-based Jewish outreach movement that offers programs in the United States, Israel, South Africa, and Australia. “We cater to everybody,” she said. “We attract not just the secular, but the observant as well.”

Rebbetzin Jungreis writes a weekly column for the Jewish Press , the largest Anglo-Jewish paper in the world, teaches Torah on TV and over the Internet, and has authored several bestsellers, including The Committed Life and The Committed Marriage .

The lecture is free, but space is limited. Please call (203) 2540-4000, ext. 2066, to reserve your seat.
