Fairfield University's Information Technology Services (ITS) department issues first online-only annual report
Utilizing a new and aggressive delivery method for an industry standard, Fairfield University's Information Technology Services (ITS) has issued its first annual report in a completely online format. The ITS Annual Report - 2013/14 is a web-based, hyperlinked, socially interactive document designed to be read in real time. Challenging the traditional printed publication method, the report is delivered online using an entirely "disruptive" technology, a non-traditional or perceived non-traditional environment that is replacing the norm.
"The report is transparent and discusses where we are now and where we plan to go tomorrow," said Paige Francis, Fairfield University CIO. "It allows 24/7 access to how the technology department runs at Fairfield, providing virtually a window into our department. With this report, we are starting to benchmark the IT department."
The ITS department is dedicated to the sustainability and mission of Fairfield University. The ITS team proactively develops strategies on the future campus technology landscape and pursues fresh ways to deliver standard services resulting in cost-savings. The ITS department was recognized nationally as a "Model of Efficiency" by University Magazine in its summer 2014 issue.
