Fairfield University Media Advisory
The following statement was issued to the Fairfield University community related to an incident that was reported to have occurred on Thursday, June 5 on the perimeter of the Fairfield campus:
To the University Community:
As we begin this busy Reunion Weekend, it is appropriate to provide an update to the Public Safety Announcement sent last evening related to the incident that was reported to have occurred on the perimeter of campus. This morning Fairfield Police confirmed that the incident did not involve a stabbing. Additionally, there is currently no information to indicate that the individual(s) involved have any connection to the University. The investigation into the matter is ongoing and University officials will continue to cooperate with the Town of Fairfield Police Department.
As always, we ask that you be aware of your surroundings, being cognizant of the safety of others as well, and report any suspicious behavior to the Department of Public Safety at (203) 254-4090, or by using one of the blue light phones around campus. Fairfield Police may be reached in an emergency via 911 or (203) 254-4800. Fairfield University's Department of Public Safety maintains active 24/7 patrols of the entire campus. Thank you.
