Diana Hulse is professor and chair of the Counselor Education Department. Dr. Hulse began her higher education career at Ball State University in 1981. She continued as coordinator of counseling programs at the University of Maine in Orono, 1983-1996. From 1996-2007 she was professor and coordinator of the doctoral and master's counseling graduate programs at the University of New Orleans (UNO). Active as a leader in national professional counseling associations, she is an accomplished researcher and writer; having authored or co-authored over 30 refereed publications and two textbooks. Her writings focus on:

  • Conceptual models that promote effective group work practice
  • Corrective feedback and its role in the success of groups in a variety of settings
  • Ways to enhance classroom instruction in group work and throughout the counselor education curriculum
  • Ways to apply best practices in counselor education to increase proficiency in building civil and engaging face to face human interactions.
