Mr. John Mendelsohn


John Mendelsohn is an Adjunct Professor in the Studio Art Program at Fairfield University. Prof. Mendelsohn received his MFA from Rutgers University and his BA from Columbia University. He is a painter whose work reflects his involvement with abstraction and its capacity for poetic expression. Prof. Mendelsohn use color, opticality, and innovative processes in making his paintings. He creates extended series of related works that inform and amplify each other. Prof. Mendelsohn has exhibited his paintings extensively and has written catalogue essays and articles about contemporary art.
