Current Research Interests

Professor Drake has translated articles on Nietzsche and Gadamer from German to English, and has published articles on Adorno, Plato, Aristotle, Sophocles, and the politics of modern art.  His research focuses on the intersection of aesthetics and politics in ancient Greek philosophy, as well as on 19th and 20th continental philosophy, especially the Frankfurt School.  He is currently at work on a book-length study of ancient roots of political ideology in relation to trends in modern art.
