Dr. Adrian Rusu is Professor and Chair of Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from University at Buffalo, SUNY, in 2003. His research consists of a blend of theoretical and applied as well as educational and technical research. A U.S. patent holder, Dr. Rusu has been recognized for his research contributions with several awards, including the 2016 Rowan University Excellence in Innovation Award, the 2012 Rowan University Excellence in Research Award, and the 2008 Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer Northeast Region Industry/Non-Federal Government/University Award. Centerpiece to Dr. Rusu's research is student mentoring. Almost 90% of his peer-reviewed publications have students as co-authors, many of whom he sponsored to present at conferences on several continents. His educational innovations are regularly presented and published in premier venues. Dr. Rusu has established both technical and educational sustainable funded partnerships with the industry, local and federal governments, high schools, and college-level programs, which have provided numerous opportunities for student learning and development. Dr. Rusu is active on the entrepreneurial spectrum, as he chairs the IEEE-CT Entrepreneurs Network.
