Professor Strauss has written numerous articles on the courts, judicial clerkships, and diversity issues. She is the author of the definitive book in the field—Behind the Bench: The Guide to Judicial Clerkships (BarBri Group 2002; 2nd edition, West Academic Publishing 2017); as well as the national study on judicial clerkships, sponsored by the American Bar Association and the National Association for Law Placement and published as Courting the Clerkship: Perspectives on the Opportunities and Obstacles for Judicial Clerkships, Report on the 2000 National Judicial Clerkship Study (National Association for Law Placement, October 2000). In the areas of international law and food safety, Professor Strauss has been noted for presenting models for civil lawsuits against terrorist groups and the labeling and monitoring of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in food. Her articles have been published in prominent journals such as the Food and Drug Law Journal, Stanford Journal of International Law, Duke Journal of Comparative and International Law, Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law, Journal of Food Law & Policy, International Lawyer, American Business Law Journal, and Journal of Legal Studies in Business. Her work has been widely cited by policymakers, legal authorities, and the courts as well as by other academics in the United States and internationally.
