Dr. Hartwell is an Assistant Professor in the department of marriage and family therapy. She teaches advanced graduate courses and supervises clinical training of students. Her teaching, research, and professional service are focused on increasing equity, diversity, and inclusion in mental health training and higher education. She designed and teaches one of the only a few LGBTQ-focused courses in the field of marriage and family therapy.
