Dr. Erica Hartwell
Assistant Professor for Marriage & Family Therapy

Dr. Hartwell is the Program Director and founder of the Sexual and Gender Minority Mental Health Certificate. She is also an Assistant Professor in the Marriage and Family Therapy program, where her teaching, supervision, and scholarship focus on creating community, compassion, and justice. Erica is committed to elevating the lives and well-being of sexual and gender minority folks. To that end, she created Pride & Wellness, a health and wellness fair for the LGBTQ community in Fairfield County. She also is the President of the Board of Directors at Triangle Community Center in Norwalk, CT and the Chair of the Queer and Trans Advocacy Network of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Erica finds joy and excitement in a lot of things, but here are a few of her favorites: cooking for friends, lifting weights, singing in the car, watching superhero movies, going to music festivals, reading memoirs, sitting on the beach, and decluttering. She dreams of living in a tiny home with her dog, Nelson.
