I received my doctorate in mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley in 2009. Upon graduation, I was awarded an NSF International Research Fellowship and spent the next two years in Lyon, France. From 2009-2013, I taught as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Smith College and joined the Fairfield faculty in Fall 2013. My research has two main focuses. In logic, I work on applications of model theory to groups and rings. In algebra and number theory, I work on problems arising from rings and monoids with nonunique factorization.
