Fairfield University’s noncredit professional training and workshops provide students and professionals with knowledge and skills to help them think about a new career, perform better in their current one, or explore a topic of personal interest. Workshops are not graded and do not confer a transcript.

Emergency Medical Technician (E.M.T.)

The Department of Public Safety, in collaboration with Trumbull EMS, offers an Emergency Medical Technician (E.M.T.) course established by the State of Connecticut and National Registry of E.M.T.s.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

The Department of Public Safety offers Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the curriculum of the American Heart Association. This certificate program enables the student to provide Basic Life Support (BLS) functions in a life-threatening situation.

Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.)

The Department of Public Safety offers Rape Aggression Defense Training (R.A.D.), a nationally recognized self-defense program for women. The R.A.D. system teaches easy, effective, and proven self-defense tactics and is designed to provide women with the knowledge to make an educated decision about resistance.
