Sierra Magazine's "Cool Schools"

Fairfield University's inclusion on the 2010 'Cool Schools' list in the fall issue of Sierra Magazine, a publication of the Sierra Club - the oldest, largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization in the nation that provides an overview of colleges and universities nationwide committed to sustainability projects.Fairfield University 2010 Energy Star Award

Guide to 286 Green Colleges

In 2010, the University was named among the country's most environmentally responsible institutions by the Princeton Review and U.S. Green Building Council, and was included in the "Guide to 286 Green Colleges," a resource focusing solely on institutions of higher education that have demonstrated an above average commitment to sustainability in terms of campus infrastructure, activities, and initiatives.

2010 Energy Star Combined Heat and Power Award

Fairfield's campus sustainability commitment has also resulted in a 2010 Energy Star Combined Heat and Power Award by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its "innovative techniques to generate power and thermal energy" on campus.
