Endowed Naming Opportunity: $5 Million

Fairfield University requests the honor of naming the Center for Entrepreneurship in the donor’s name or the name of his/her choosing. Such a designation will signal the Center’s extraordinary dedication to higher education, to entrepreneurship, scientific advancement, and to the ways philanthropy can both sustain an institution and impel it to new heights of achievement.

A plaque will be prominently displayed at all Center locations at the Dolan School and the School of Engineering acknowledging the “NAME Center for Entrepreneurship.” The full name of the Center will be acknowledged in scientific papers, publications, at conferences and in any/all publicity related to the work that has been made possible with the support of the endowment. Any equipment purchased with funds from the endowment will have a plaque displayed on or near the equipment that also acknowledges the generosity of the donor.

In addition, the donor will be acknowledged in University publications or electronic communications, including Fairfield’s Annual Honor Roll of Donors. Stories on the establishment and naming of the Center will be featured in press releases as well as articles in Fairfield Magazine and the newsletters for the Dolan School and the Scool of Engineering.

Director of Entrepreneurship

Endowed Naming Opportunity: $2.5 Million

Named directorships are the highest honor Fairfield University can bestow on our most renowned program leaders. A directorship honors the pacesetting achievements of the bearer while recognizing the remarkable generosity and significant endorsement of a farsighted benefactor(s) who established such an enduring legacy at her or his alma mater. Through a unique partnership, the funds generated annually by the endowed directorship will support the staff member’s critical role and work in Entrepreneurship, which benefits students, the University, the region and the world.

The bearer of the Directorship in Entrepreneurship will personify Fairfield University’s commitment to excellence, scholarship, community service and intellectual exploration. The donor(s) of the directorship is invited to name the directorship, which will be publically acknowledged by the faculty member as part of the bearer’s formal title and the full name of the directorship will be given full acknowledgement in all activities involving the bearer both on campus and externally. Additionally, the donor(s) will receive annual reports summarizing activity and fund expenditures.

Annual Current Use Goal: $100,000

The donor who provides annual support for the Director of Entrepreneurship will be provided with all the above recognition for a period of one year.

Entrepreneurship Program Fund

3-Year Current Use Goal: $1 Million

This pooled fund will support the Center Director’s salary, initial costs of renovating the main office location and underwriting entrepreneurship outreach activities. Donors will be acknowledged on a list of benefactors on a new web site for the Center at www.fairfield.edu and in University publications or electronic communications, including Fairfield’s Annual Honor Roll of Donors.

Entrepreneur-in-Residence

Endowed Naming Opportunity: $250,000

The donor(s) of the endowed Entrepreneur-in-Residence is invited to name the endowment/position, which will be publically acknowledged by the bearer as part of the bearer’s formal title and the full name of the Entrepreneur-in-Residence will be given acknowledgement in all activities involving the bearer both on campus and externally. Additionally, donor(s) will receive annual reports summarizing the activity and expenditures. Donors will be acknowledged on a list of benefactors at on new web site for the Center and in University publications or electronic communications, including Fairfield’s Annual Honor Roll of Donors.

Annual Current Use Goal: $10,000

The donor who provides annual support for the Entrepreneur-in-Residence will be provided with all the above recognition for a period of one year.

Engineer-in-Residence

Endowed Naming Opportunity: $250,000

The donor(s) of the endowed Engineer-in-Residence is invited to name the endowment/position, which will be publically acknowledged by the bearer as part of the bearer’s formal title and the full name of the Engineer-in-Residence will be given acknowledgement in all activities involving the bearer both on campus and externally. Additionally, donor(s) will receive annual reports summarizing the activity and expenditures. Donors will be acknowledged on a list of benefactors on new web site for the Center and in University publications or electronic communications, including Fairfield’s Annual Honor Roll of Donors.

Annual Current Use Goal: $10,000

The donor who provides annual support for the Engineer-in-Residence will be provided with all the above recognition for a period of one year.

Commercialization Clinic

Current Use Goal: $50,000, per year.

The fund will support interdisciplinary teams of undergraduate students paired with faculty mentors from Dolan, SOE and other parts of campus to work together for two years on a collaborative research project. Additionally, these important resources will leverage external commercial and government funding. Donors will be acknowledged in scientific papers, publications, at conferences and in any/all publicity related to the work that has been made possible via their generosity.

FAME Operations Fund

Annual Current Use Goal: $50,000

These funds will underwrite the annual cost for Dolan School to operate FAME. Specifically, funds will be used to provide client support services for concept design and development, technology and operational support to help mold great ideas into cohesive models that can enter the marketplace or be presented to potential investors

Fairfield StagUp Entrepreneurship Competition

Annual Current Use Goal: $30,000

These funds are provided to the winning teams as awards to pursue the development of their new product. Sponsors will be announced at each StagUp event, in the Showcase finale program and on the Competition website www.fairfieldstagup.org.

FAME Summer Fellowship Program

Annual Current Use Goal: $25,000 (five student teams @$5,000 ea.)

The funds will support student teams to participate in FAME for the summer free of charge. Donors will be acknowledged at FAME and in any/all publicity related to the work of the teams during the period of the award.
