Athletics is an integral part of student life at the University. Fairfield University sponsors 19 varsity sports that participate at the Division I level. More than 400 students participate in varsity sports, over 200 in club sports, and over 1,500 in intramural sports. As part of the Jesuit philosophy, it is important that students have the opportunity to engage their body as well as their mind and spirit in their education.

The campus shuttle runs to the bookstore from the BCC throughout the week.

Fairfield University has a new town bookstore located at 1499 Post Road in the center of Fairfield. The University bookstore is operated by Follett, Inc. Textbooks can be purchased there or online at https://fairfield.bncollege.com.

The bookstore sells a variety of convenience and stationery items, as well as clothing and other novelty and gift items.

Books can be sold back to the bookstore if the instructors teaching the courses have indicated the books will be used again. The bookstore accepts cash, checks, credit cards, and StagBucks. The campus shuttle makes regular stops to the bookstore.

Follett also operates a "spirit shop" on the second floor of the BCC where students can purchase apparel and other convenience items.

The Office of Campus Ministry nourishes a faith community on campus, expressing the University's Catholic and Jesuit mission and identity. The Campus Ministry team consists of  both religious and lay people, one of whom is on call 24 hours a day, and a part-time Protestant chaplain. In addition, the chapel and campus ministry center are available to individuals of all faiths and religious traditions.

Campus Ministry provides counseling and spiritual direction for all students and members of the University community, fosters prayer life, conducts retreats and liturgies, trains students as lectors and Eucharistic ministers, and coordinates interfaith and ecumenical events. Most community service at the University is either sponsored by or coordinated through Campus Ministry. While mostly performed by undergraduate students, all students are invited to participate in community service activities. In addition to local service opportunities, students may apply for longer, immersion experiences to places such as Ecuador, Mexico, Haiti, and Nicaragua, as well as places closer to home such as Kentucky, Maine, and Connecticut. Each year, hundreds of students participate in programs sponsored by Campus Ministry.

The Career Planning Center is an excellent resource for students, alumni, and employers at all stages of the career planning process. The center provides a variety of workshops on choosing career paths, preparing for and implementing a job search, and a Career Fair to students and alumni. Also, the Career Planning Center is a connection for outside employers to Fairfield University students.

College is a very challenging time in the life of a young adult. Many new issues and stressors face Fairfield students during their four years at the University. Counseling Services is focused on working with students as they face those concerns and struggles. Along with wellness and prevention programming, students have the opportunity to develop healthy lifestyles that will last into well into adulthood.

The Office of the Dean of Students serves as a clearinghouse for many of the activities that occur outside of the classroom. The office acts as a resource for a wide range of student life issues and services. Also, the Office of the Dean of Students administers the student conduct process. When students are unsure of where to go for assistance, this office is often the best place to start.

The Office of Disability Support Services provides support services to help all students achieve academic success. Students can take advantage of Peer Tutoring, and they may receive individualized assistance in many skill areas necessary for academic achievement.

The Office of Graduate Student Life seeks to foster a sense of community among graduate students by organizing and planning intellectual, cultural and social events, recreational outings, Jesuit service learning and other activities.

The purpose of the Health Center is to foster and maintain the health of Fairfield University students by preventive measures, education, and treatment of illnesses and injuries. The staff is available to talk with students seeking medical information as well as matters pertaining to healthy habits, which allows for a greater understanding of themselves from a holistic perspective. The Health Center is located at the back of Dolan Hall.

The Mailroom processes all incoming and outgoing U.S. Mail, as well as interoffice or campus mail. The Mailroom offers stamps and can apply postage to almost any package of any size. Mailing supplies are available from the bookstore.

Kelley Center

The Office of New Student Programs exists to assist new undergraduate students and their families in their transition into Fairfield University. The office oversees Orientation programs for students and parents both during the summer and immediately prior to the start of classes for the fall semester. All full-time, first-year, undergraduates participate in the First-Year Experience (FYE) program, which includes speakers, small group meetings, and a service component.

Members of the Department of Public Safety focus on maintaining a safe and secure environment for members of the Fairfield University community. Officers continuously patrol campus and each shift contains at least two trained emergency medical technicians. Fairfield University's Department of Public Safety continuously updates security and safety programs to the University's ever-changing needs.

The Department of Recreation coordinates a comprehensive intramural sports program, club sports, fitness classes, and other special events. Also, under the direction of the Department of Recreation is the management of the Leslie C. Quick, Jr. Recreation Complex (the RecPlex). The RecPlex is used primarily for open recreation, physical conditioning, and intramural sports.

Fairfield University is a residential campus and full-time undergraduate students live on-campus in residence halls, townhouses, and an apartment complex. Living in residence teaches and fosters a sense of shared and collective responsibility - responsibility to one's self, roommate(s), floormates, and broader community. Residential life at Fairfield University seeks to be more than simply a place where students sleep, study, relax, and socialize. It seeks to be a place where learning is continuous and well rounded.

The StagCard Office issues official identification (ID) cards to all students, faculty, and staff. The StagCard, however, is more than just an ID card. Cardholders use it as a debit card (e.g. Dining Dollars and/or StagBucks), to access campus buildings or facilities, to enter the dining hall, to utilize the campus laundry facilities, to print in public computer labs, and to check out books and other materials from the library.

The Office of University Activities is the hub for co-curricular and extra-curricular programs and activities at Fairfield. It sponsors or assists in executing an array of cultural, educational, social and recreational programs. The Office fosters student development by providing first-hand experience in leadership, organizational management, decision-making, and planning.
