Student Life At Fairfield

On-Campus

Fairfield's campus provides serene beauty, while its 36 modern buildings provide state-of-the-art technology and the resources you'll need to complement your classroom experience.

Our 200 acres feature multiple athletic fields and housing options from traditional residence halls to apartments to townhouses. All residences and academic buildings are linked by fiber-optic cable, some with wireless connections, so access to databases, the library's impressive collections, and the Internet are just a click away - anytime, anywhere.

Off-Campus

Fairfield University occupies a unique, 200-acre campus in southwestern Connecticut with rolling hills, mature landscapes, and coastal views of Long Island Sound. The University runs a free shuttle bus into downtown Fairfield (pop. 55,000), just a mile from campus, with its popular shops and restaurants, and the train station that provides easy access to New Haven, Stamford, and New York City.

Our suburban setting provides a vibrant environment for living and learning, students are encouraged to step out, step up and access the many career and community opportunities in the thriving urban area.

Approximately 140 Fortune 500 firms are headquartered within an hour of campus. Internships, community service, and leadership projects all provide invaluable extensions of classroom learning.

Bursar

The Office of the Bursar is responsible for the Accounts Receivable of the University, which includes all student accounts and miscellaneous cash receipts, as well as the daily cash management operations of the University. The student accounts area is specifically responsible for issuing the student bills, processing receipts and responding to inquiries.

StagCard

All students, employees and long-term contractors of Fairfield University are required to obtain and carry a StagCard, which is the University's official identification card. All new employees will receive an authorization form from Human Resources. Contractors will receive an authorization form from their University sponsor. Students must be registered for classes (incoming freshman class excepted).

Transportation & Parking

The Office of Conference and Events Management assists in coordinating transportation for a variety of university sponsored trips. A fleet of 11 University vans and two sedans are available for use by the Fairfield University community, as well as several bus options. In addition, Fairfield University offers an off-campus shuttle.
