The Center
The Marriage and Family Therapy program operates a clinical service on the campus of Fairfield University. The Kathryn P. Koslow Center for Marriage and Family Therapy, made possible through a generous gift, is a new, state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest in technology and is situated at a convenient and private location in Southwell Hall.
Advanced graduate students, under the supervision of professional faculty and supervisors, provide clinical services to individuals, couples, and families from the community.
The Center is dedicated to:
- Providing therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families
- Excellence in the training of professional marriage and family therapists
- Creating a community of professionals where both graduates and current students can be engaged and remain connected
Mission Statement
The Kathryn P. Koslow Center for Marriage and Family Therapy's mission is to:
- Offer a state-of-the-art facility that attracts students to the Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program and provides them with superior clinical training
- Serve as the home to a community of MFTs
- Further the Jesuit ideals of Fairfield University by:
- Providing students with the opportunity to work with a diverse base of clients, built through a program of community outreach with local schools and social service/mental health agencies
- Promoting life-long learning and intellectual curiosity through engaging students and alumnae/i in maintaining an ongoing relationship with the Fairfield University MFT community by offering programs such as social events, mentoring, group supervision, workshops/lectures, continuing educations, and joint clinical services
In keeping with Fairfield University's identity as a Jesuit and Catholic institution of higher learning, the Koslow Center is committed to the ideals of embracing difference, examining social systems critically, and becoming directly involved with those who are underprivileged and underserved.

Welcome to the Kathryn P. Koslow Center for Marriage and Family Therapy. The Koslow Center specializes in providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families who are experiencing distress or conflict in their lives. We believe that the issues that have brought you to seek counseling are best solved with the help and support of your intimate relationships. It is our goal to provide you with a safe, confidential, and supportive environment, so we can collaboratively work towards resolution of the concerns you and your family members are currently experiencing.

MFT Program & Advisory Board
The Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) educates candidates for careers as marriage and family therapists, and is fully accredited with the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE).
The Advisory Board was created to support the growth of the MFT program, as well as further the vision and mission of the Kathryn P. Koslow Center.

Services
The Koslow Center seeks to assist individuals, couples, and families with problems such as:
- Interpersonal relationship concerns
- Pre-marital concerns or issues
- Breakdown in family communication
- Childhood developmental concerns
- Parent/child conflict
- Child/adolescent behavior management
- Marital conflict
- Sexual difficulties
- Separation or divorce issues
- Coping with aging parents
- Problems related to illness or loss
- Depression
- Anxiety
Fees
Charges for services at the Koslow Center are based on a sliding scale according to family income and circumstances. No one will be denied services due to financial constraints.
Confidentiality
The ethical principles and standards of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) as well as state laws regarding confidentiality and professional practice are rigorously adhered to by all therapists.
Policies
Therapy is provided by advanced graduate students in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program in Fairfield University's School of Education and Human Development. All sessions are observed by a supervisory team to ensure that clients receive the best services possible. Supervisors are Connecticut state licensed marriage and family therapists who are credentialed to treat and deliver services to individuals, couples and families through the professional application of family systems approaches. Clients are requested to give their written consent to these procedures at the onset of therapy.

Hours
The Koslow Center schedules therapy sessions by appointment (Monday-Friday), and fees for services are based on a sliding scale. It seeks to make clinical services available to all clients regardless of their ability to pay.
