A Message from Dean Ligas
Friends of the Dolan School,
What an exciting time to be connected to Fairfield University and to the Dolan School of Business specifically. A few weeks back, we were privileged to inaugurate Dr. Mark R. Nemec as the ninth President of Fairfield University. President Nemec fully believes that Fairfield can be the modern Jesuit Catholic institution, and many of the activities and initiatives here at the Dolan School align so well with this vision. In addition to welcoming the undergraduate class of 2021, three new faculty joined the accounting, finance, and marketing departments. Additionally, we officially welcomed the Department of Economics to the Dolan School.
As you will read in the various articles posted in this online issue, the Dolan School is in the midst of a transformation. On the outside, planning continues for our new state-of-the-art facility, which is scheduled to open in fall 2019. On the inside, with the growth of our faculty comes additional opportunities to enhance both the undergraduate and graduate curricula, as well as a myriad of co-curricular and experiential initiatives that foster professional development. And of course, central to all of these efforts is our ongoing commitment to educating women and men of character and compassion, who are able to cultivate their talents and true vocations through purposeful and reflective work as Dolan students.
It is indeed an exciting time for Fairfield and for the Dolan School. I invite you to dive into this information, to learn more about who we are and what we have to offer, and ultimately to share in the excitement of what it means to be a part of a modern Jesuit Catholic institution! We look forward to your engagement in the Dolan Community.
