Fairfield University Women’s Golf enhances the college experience of our varsity student-athletes, providing them with opportunities to excel athletically and academically. Friends of Women’s Golf provides the program with the basic necessities to help them compete at the highest levels of competition.
Dear Friends of Fairfield Women’s Golf,
The 2017-18 school year has arrived! We have spent the summer making several enhancements that will positively impact the student-athlete experience for the men’s and women’s golf programs. Here are two of the major enhancements that will be presented to the golf teams this fall.
Firstly, Fairfield University has finalized an agreement with Brooklawn Country Club to become the home of the Stags varsity golf teams. This agreement will go into place gradually throughout the 2017-18 school year. Brooklawn is a premier golf course that will elevate the training and practice experience for our student-athletes. The club has been very accommodating and we look forward to working with them for years to come.
Secondly, due to the generosity of Fairfield Golf Alumnus Vic Pino ’73, his wife Mary, and their family, which includes former Stags captains Rudy ’05 and Anne ’01, we will open the Pino Golf Studio on campus this fall. The golf studio will include a single-bay hitting area complete with state-of-the-art Trackman software and projection to analyze the swing of each student-athlete. A putting green and lounge area will also be included. On behalf of the Fairfield University golf teams, I would like to thank Vic and his family for their incredible contributions to our program. A formal ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception will be planned for this fall. Invitations will be sent out to the Friends of Fairfield Golf once details are finalized.
I look forward to seeing many Friends of Fairfield Golf at our tournaments this fall and spring. Thank you for your support. I couldn’t be more excited about the enthusiasm and growth of our programs.
