Captains' Letter

Dear Friends of Fairfield Women’s Cross Country,

Thank you so much for all that you have given and continue to give to the Fairfield Women’s Cross Country team.

When sharing stories with each other about why we chose to come to Fairfield, we both shared similar reasons: the gorgeous campus, Jesuit values, and rounded education that Fairfield promoted through its programs. We were both locked in after meeting the Women’s Cross Country team, we were welcomed with smiles and great stories, and knew this was a program we had to be a part of.

We are thankful for all of the opportunities that Fairfield and our donors have provided us and the entire team. On this STAGiving Day, March 20, we plan to participate and give back in honor of our own experiences as Stags and to ensure that future student-athletes have access to the same, or even better, opportunities than we have. You’re invited to join the celebration and make a gift in honor of your own Fairfield experience.

Because of our time at Fairfield, we’ve experienced so many unforgettable adventures that make us proud to be Stags. And that’s why we’re giving back in honor of our most memorable Fairfield experiences to date:

For me, Ashley Cambisaca, my most memorable experience was the 2016 MAAC Cross Country Championship at Disneyworld with my team. It was a one of a kind experience that I will always be thankful for. I had my best 6K race at the happiest place on earth with the greatest teammates.

For me, Katie Kern, my favorite experience was the day of the Father Leeber Invitational in 2016. We were all surrounded by family, friends, and alumni because we were actually on campus for a meet. It was a great atmosphere having all that support around on such a beautiful day. The relationships and bonds that we make at this University are some of the most important things to take with us after 4 years.

Thank you to the alumni, parents, and friends who contributed to make these opportunities possible.

Your support is critical to building and strengthening our program. We hope you’ll continue your support on STAGiving Day by making a gift in honor of a coach, student-athlete, or program that made a difference to you, a family member, or a neighbor. A gift of any size makes a great difference for our small program. And new this year, if you make a gift of at least $75, you can opt in to receive an exclusive pair of Stag socks. See how your support will make a difference by visiting fairfield.edu/STAGiving.

Thank you for contributing to the success of Fairfield Women’s Cross Country!

Go Stags,
