Captains' Letter

Dear Friends of Fairfield Women’s Basketball,

Thank you so much for all that you have given and continue to give to the Fairfield Women’s Basketball team.

When sharing stories with each other about why we chose to come to Fairfield, we all had similar reasons: the great education, beautiful campus, friendly people, small student to professor ratio, and Fairfield’s commitment to athletic success.

We are thankful for all of the opportunities that Fairfield and our donors have provided us and the entire team. On this STAGiving Day, March 20, we plan to participate and give back in honor of our own experiences as Stags and to ensure that future student-athletes have access to the same, or even better, opportunities than we have. You’re invited to join the celebration and make a gift in honor of your own Fairfield experience.

Because of our time at Fairfield, we’ve experienced so many unforgettable adventures that make us proud to be Stags. And that’s why we’re giving back in honor of our most memorable Fairfield experiences to date:

For me, Macey Hollenshead, my most memorable Fairfield experiences have all involved spending time with my basketball family on and off the court.

For me, Kristen McLaughlin, my most memorable Fairfield experience was my senior night. The gym was packed, and the energy that we brought as a team was contagious. It was such a fun game to play in, and the excitement that surrounded the game really brought us to another level.

And for me, Samantha Cooper, my most memorable moment to date was beating Boston College! On a personal level, I will always remember scoring my 1,000th point with some of my former teammates and best friends present to cheer me on.

Thank you to the alumni, parents, and friends who contributed to make these opportunities possible. Our women’s basketball team works hard every day on the court, in the classroom, and in the community. We appreciate your support, which helps us achieve our goal of being a top competitor in the MAAC.

We hope you’ll continue your support on STAGiving Day by making a gift in honor of a coach, student-athlete, or program that made a difference to you, a family member, or a neighbor. A gift of any size will greatly impact the Women’s Basketball program. And new this year, if you make a gift of at least $75, you can opt in to receive an exclusive pair of Stag socks. Thank you for contributing to the success of Fairfield Women’s Basketball!

Go Stags,

Samantha Cooper ’18, Macey Hollenshead ’18, and Kristen McLaughlin ’18
