Captains' Letter

Dear Friends of Fairfield Men’s Lacrosse,

Thank you so much for all that you have given and continue to give to the Fairfield Men’s Lacrosse team.

While we all chose to come to Fairfield for several reasons, there is one reason that we all share: Fairfield University consistently supports its student-athletes so they can succeed both athletically and academically. The desire for success is seen in coaches, faculty, players, and the administration. This tremendous opportunity to succeed is ultimately what drove us to represent Stag Country on the field. We are thankful for all of the opportunities that Fairfield and donors have provided us and the entire team. On this STAGiving Day, March 20, we plan to participate and give back in honor of our own experiences as Stags and to ensure that future student-athletes have access to the same, or even better, opportunities than we have. You’re invited to join the celebration and make a gift in honor of your own Fairfield experience.

Because of our time at Fairfield, we’ve experienced so many unforgettable adventures that make us proud to be Stags. And that’s why we’re all giving back in honor of our most memorable Fairfield experiences to date.

I, Spencer Noonan, am giving back in honor of overcoming Hofstra my sophomore year. It was a huge conference win that led to us being the in-season conference champions.

I, Joe Rodrigues, am giving back in honor of our win over nationally ranked Towson University during Military Appreciation Day last spring, and the bonds I’ve formed during my time here because I know that they are relationships I’ll cherish forever.

And I, Sam “Danger” Murphy, am giving back in honor of the day that I got switched to the defensive midfielder position; it was the best day of my life!

Thank you to the alumni, parents, and friends who contributed to make these opportunities possible.

The support provided by donors does not go unrecognized by the student-athletes here at Fairfield University. The achievements within the athletic department would not be possible without you all!

We hope you’ll continue your support on STAGiving Day by making a gift in honor of a coach, student-athlete, or program that made a difference to you, a family member, or a neighbor. And new this year, if you make a gift of at least $75, you can opt in to receive an exclusive pair of Stag socks. See how your support will make a difference by visiting fairfield.edu/STAGiving.

Thank you for contributing to the success of Fairfield Men’s Lacrosse!

Go Stags,

Spencer Noonan  ’18, Joe Rodrigues ’18 and Sam Murphy ‘19
