Friends of Men's Cross Country

Welcome!

Fairfield University Men’s Cross Country enhances the college experience of our varsity student-athletes, providing them with opportunities to excel athletically and academically. Friends of Men’s Cross Country provides the program with the basic necessities to help them run at the highest levels of collegiate competition.

Coach's Letter

Dear Friends of Cross Country,

It is an honor to have been recently named the 16th head coach of the men's and women's cross country teams. I'm looking forward to leading the program and being a part of the Fairfield University community.

Our men and women runners have spent the summer months putting in many miles and training for the current season. We are eager to put our running shoes to the test during the Ted Owen Invitational on September 23rd, Paul Short Run on September 29th, and the New England Championship on October 7th.

Junior captains, Mike Bodie and Scott Daly, are leading the men's team. The men's incoming recruiting class included freshmen Ben Breton, Mike Dziuba, Nick Rispoli, and Connor Secora.

We are grateful to all of our donors for supporting our cross country student-athletes. Please help us continue to strengthen our team by making a donation today.

Thank you,

David Scrivines

STAGiving Day 2017

This year, March 8, 2017 will mark Fairfield University’s third annual STAGiving Day. This year Fairfield Men’s Cross Country is partnering with GiveCampus.com, a platform that allows our supporters to view challenges, post interactive videos, and watch real-time fundraising progress. The day will also feature LIVE Facebook sessions with coaches and student-athletes.

This year Men’s Cross Country is aiming for 100% student-athlete participation. As we commit to invest in our program, we ask that you join us in making a gift of $10, $15, $20 or more. It’s not about the amount, STAGiving Day is an opportunity for all to STAND UP, give back and make a difference in 24 hours.

What is STAGiving Day?

STAGiving Day is a University-wide effort to reach participation goals through a 24-hour fundraising drive. It’s a day for alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends from all over the world to come together to give back and celebrate Fairfield.

Why are we focusing on participation?

Alumni participation is the only indicator of alumni satisfaction in U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings of colleges and universities. Participation in giving increases the value of a Fairfield degree. Fairfield’s prestige and rankings affect how employers, admissions officers, prospective students and parents view the University.

But what if I already donated this year?

All gifts already donated this year have helped Men’s Cross Country get closer to our goal of 20 donors and $5,000. We want to thank all those who have invested in our program to date!

If you haven’t given yet, this is the perfect opportunity to donate any amount ($10, $15, $20 or more). If you’ve already supported the program, spread the message to former teammates, family members or co-workers by using #STAGiving or #GoStags. You can make a difference at your desk or at home. Share or retweet our content on your social media page. Check out our Live Facebook interviews at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Facebook and watch our real-time fundraising progress on GiveCampus.com.

How can I give?

Make your gift from anywhere in the world in one of two ways:

  1. Go to GiveCampus.com and search for ‘Fairfield University’ in the top right hand corner. Scroll to the Men's Cross Country challenge and click the ‘give now’ button between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. EST on March 8, 2017,
  2. Call us toll-free at 877-748-5123 and speak to one of our representatives between 8:30 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. EST on STAGiving Day

Where does my donation go?

Your gift goes directly where you designate it, which may include your favorite athletic team, undergraduate scholarships, student life, etc.
