Letter from the President

Dear Friend,

Fall is, without a doubt, my favorite season on campus. Our students are excited to be moving into their new homes away from home, and our faculty and staff are filled with renewed vigor for another year of innovation and growth.

Even though this is my sixth fall at Fairfield, each academic year feels brand new. We just welcomed our latest group of eager and ambitious students back to campus, and so we are reminded once again of the importance of the work we do at Fairfield— forming and inspiring our students to become men and women for others. I am honored to be a part of this tradition and feel privileged to know we have such engaged and committed alumni, parents, and friends like you who support our University’s mission.

Since joining the Stag family, I have learned that when our community joins together to support a common purpose—making a modern Jesuit and Catholic education accessible to students from all walks of life—we can achieve remarkable things.

Last year, Fairfield alumni, parents, and friends made gifts that drove exceptional growth at our University. Generous groups of donors played a significant role in propelling our students and faculty forward as we continued to tackle the unknown. Our community proved to us once again that our unified strength is at the root of Fairfield’s true spirit, and in turn, our ascent in national prominence and reputation.

The unwavering support from our Stag community also helps our University attract some of the brightest, driven, and diverse young minds. The Class of 2026 is the largest first-year class in our history, with over 1,300 students, from 24 different states and 10 countries. Representing various backgrounds, this class includes our first cohort of Company Scholars—an elite group of 15 students from Cristo Rey Network and Jesuit High Schools who were awarded four-year, full-tuition scholarships to Fairfield for their high academic achievement and willing engagement in community service.

Fairfield students are able to realize their potential due to the collective efforts of many—thanks to those who have already witnessed and experienced the benefits of a Fairfield education and share a desire to make this opportunity available to others.

Our students deserve the best, and therefore I am immensely grateful for all Fairfield can offer them thanks to the generosity of supporters like you. Our students have access to hundreds of engaging academic programs and experiential learning experiences, over 100 creative student life activities, and more than 6,000 life-changing internship, career-building, and networking opportunities. These experiences are why 98% of Fairfield alumni secure full-time professional employment, enroll in graduate degree programs, or participate in volunteer programs within six months after receiving their undergraduate degrees. From Fairfield, Stags go on to pursue successful careers and philanthropic efforts that change the world.

Support like yours moves Fairfield forward and broadens possibilities for each Fairfield student. Thank you for playing your part during this extraordinary time in Fairfield University’s history. I look forward to sharing our University’s progress with you throughout the academic year, and hope to see you on campus or at one of our regional events soon.

Be well and God bless,

Fairfield has really given me a ton of opportunities that I feel I need to pay forward. I have learned how much difference you can make by just picking up the phone, answering a student’s email, or making annual contributions.
