Welcome to the 2020-21 Honor Roll of Donors where we gratefully acknowledge the support of all those who believe in the work we are doing to ensure the holistic formation of our students in the 500-year-old traditions of the Ignatian academic experience as they prepare to graduate and lead lives of purpose.

The Honor Roll of Donors demonstrates the invincible Stag spirit of our alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends. Your support, especially during the pandemic, inspired and empowered our students, faculty, and staff to persevere while maintaining the highest standards of excellence across all aspects of our mission as the modern, Jesuit Catholic University.

As we look ahead with confidence, we remain ever grateful for the generosity of all our supporters and the warmth and resilience of our Fairfield community.

With warmest regards,

Mark R. Nemec, PhD
President
Professor of Politics

Why I Chose Fairfield University
I knew that Fairfield was home from the moment I stepped on campus. Everyone that I saw greeted me with a smile. I felt a sense of welcome and comfort that I have never felt so soon after entering a new environment. I admired that Fairfield viewed their applicants holistically and believed it would be a place where I could feel comfortable being my whole self.

My Plans after Graduation
As a first-year student, my goals during my first year at Fairfield were to hold myself more accountable with my time management and to reach out to my peers or professors when I need help. I hope to join more clubs and organizations on campus because I feel like that's the best way that I can begin to shape what my values and interests will be like after college.

The Impact of Receiving this Scholarship
Though it may be cliché, Fairfield University has shown me the person that I want to become and has given me the tools to begin my journey. The relationships that I have built at Fairfield have enriched both my life and others' lives, and I am certain that this symbiotic dynamic will continue into the future. My experience at the Fairfield has deeply changed me to say the least!

Honors, Awards, and Other Activities

My Plans after Graduation
I am not too sure about my post-college plans to be completely honest. I may return to the University for a master's degree, but I am unsure about which field to pursue such a degree in. Most likely, I will seek employment after my college career. My career prospects are quite varied, however, as they range from aiming to become a teacher or an air traffic controller (to continue one of my father's dreams)! Nevertheless, if one thing is certain, I aim to continue volunteering.

What I enjoy most about Fairfield University
What I enjoy most about Fairfield is the sense of community. Many of us students come from different backgrounds, yet somehow we find a way to discover similarities between one another. It is also very easy to get advice from upperclassmen and advisors. No one is judged for being a high achiever and people make themselves easily accessible to provide assistance. This has inspired me to put myself in a position to provide advice to other students.

Honors, Awards, and Other Activities

  • Dean's List (all semesters)
  • Honors Program

  • Black Student Union
  • Humanitarian Action Club
  • Distinguished Gentlemen Club

My Plans after Graduation
One of the post-college options I am considering is to work at one of the big four accounting firms, get my certified public accountant (CPA) license, and eventually get a job in commercial banking. Another option I am considering is going to law school and exploring a specialization in tax law.
