Responding to the Needs of Students

Stags for Stags logo

The mission of Fairfield University never wavers. Together, we have created a community that continuously strives to educate the whole person—men and women for others who will go out and transform our world for the better. That was the vision of St. Ignatius, and we hold fast to that vision, particularly now during this moment of challenge.

Our community is a strong one, and our University continues to respond strategically to address the unique needs of our students in the true spirit of Jesuit education.

Given the urgent and unforeseen needs of our students, many members of our community are already reaching out to help. And, we are grateful to all who seek to help students despite changes in our own lives and circumstances. Please learn more about these urgent giving priorities and consider a contribution today.

Critical Student Needs

Support of four urgent areas of the greatest need will have a profound impact on current students and the incoming class of 2024.

Critical Student Financial Aid

Provide students with critical financial aid that ensures the opportunity to experience the achievement of a Fairfield education. Watch webinar recording of Students’ Financial Aid Needs Amid COVID-19.

"Each day, I talk to families who have experienced the loss of a job or an event that pushes a Fairfield education out of reach. Additional funds for financial aid will help so many deserving and talented students overcome this obstacle."

- Corry D. Unis Vice President for Enrollment Management

Student Wellness & Resiliency

Respond to students in crisis and increase capacity to care for students' physical and mental health through outreach and counseling innovations.

"We have to protect our community and amplify outreach and make sure students are caring for their minds, their bodies, and their souls."

- Karen Donoghue ’03 Vice President for Student Life

Academic Response & Preparedness

Ensure students have access to online learning and technology that will forever supplement their classroom education.

"Fairfield was well prepared for an unforeseen transition to online learning. However, the sudden implementation has amplified our awareness that students will benefit tremendously from new modalities and resources now and into the future."

- Christine Siegel, PhD Provost

Campus Spirituality & Student Guidance

Respond to students’ spiritual necessities and provide greater direction in daily lives to overcome fears and uncertainties.

"It is essential that all students, especially first-year students unfamiliar with campus living and learning can seek the guidance, support, comfort, and sense of community through God that is a hallmark of the Fairfield experience."

- Rev. Gerry Blaszczak, S.J. Vice President for Mission and Ministry

Please consider a contribution that will immediately benefit Fairfield students.

Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

Amplify access and inclusion of students of color through immediate-use scholarship, diversifying the student body, and promoting the value we can realize when we teach, learn, and grow together.

Support of the Multicultural Scholarship Fund will help deserving individuals receive an exceptional education while bringing valuable perspectives and experiences to our campus community.

Athletics Needs

Fairfield Athletics continue to adhere to Stags Compete, Stags Care, Stags Lead, and Stags Grow, in an overall effort to ensure that every student-athlete is “Built for Life.” The Fairfield community has embraced this mantra and continue to help us ensure that our student-athletes have a championship caliber experience on campus that aligns them for success upon graduation.

As we continue the planning process for our varsity programs to return to campus to compete at the highest level, support from alumni, parents, and friends is paramount to enhance the educational experience of our Stags student-athletes. Your support towards the operational needs of each program provides them with the requisite resources to compete for championships and supplement scholarship allocations that can be used to help our student-athletes get through these uncertain times.

Please consider supporting our 450 student-athletes that call Fairfield home.
