2020 Reunion Committees

Get Involved!

If you're in an undergraduate class ending in a "5" or a "0", you'll be celebrating your Reunion in June! Consider being a part of your Reunion Class Committee to ensure you have a great turnout and participation in a class gift. Committee members communicate directly with classmates to help us keep our information current and to encourage class gift support and attendance at Reunion.

Reunion Committee Opportunities

Bringing lots of classmates back to campus would not be possible without our dedicated Reunion Class Committees, a group of volunteers from each reunion class who encourage attendance at Reunion Weekend and Reunion Class Gift participation. Fairfield's staff members work closely with each committee to help alumni reconnect with each other and with Fairfield, and to help each committee reach its Reunion Class Gift goals.

  • Encourage classmates to come back for Reunion and participate in your class gift.
  • Help locate lost alumni and share address changes or e-mail addresses with your class manager as you learn of them.
  • Select classmates whom you would be willing to contact to encourage attendance and class gift participation.
  • Assist with class Facebook group, including posting photos of your Fairfield days and encouraging classmates to register and make a gift.
  • Contribute to the Annual Fund to the extent you are able.

To speak to your Reunion Committee Manager about this exciting opportunity, please call Carolyn Garibaldi at 203-254-4000 x 2174 or email cgaribaldi@fairfield.edu.

Reunion Weekend Policies

Children

Children and grandchildren are welcome at the Taste of Fairfield and daytime activities. Please be sure to include children’s names in your registration. Children are not permitted at the Friday night receptions or Saturday evening dinner dance. Due to limited space, we are unable to provide overnight on-campus accommodations for children.

Smoking and Drug Policy

Smoking is prohibited in all campus buildings and under the tents and is only permitted in designed smoking areas around campus. Illegal substances are prohibited on campus. Anyone found in violation of this policy will be dealt with appropriately by the Department of Public Safety and the Fairfield Police Department.

On-Campus Payment Methods

Walk-in registrations for event tickets and housing (when available) may be paid for via cash or credit card. Drink tickets for the Friday night reception at the Levee, as well for the Bellarmine Dinner Dance on Saturday, are CASH ONLY. Cash is also recommended for the purchase of additional food vouchers at the Taste of Fairfield, as credit card purchases will need to be processed inside at the Information Desk. There is a Bank of America ATM located on the Second Floor of the Barone Campus Center.

Special Needs

Dietary requirements, food allergies, and/or accessible parking or housing for the physically challenged can be arranged with advance notice. Please call us with any special needs at (203) 254-4280.

Event Specific Questions:

How long is the Fun Run and can all ages participate?

The approximately three mile Fun Run around campus has become a Reunion tradition! Children are welcome to participate if accompanied by an adult. Please note our Fun Run does take place rain or shine.

Will the RecPlex be open for use during the weekend?

The RecPlex hours for the weekend are tentatively as follows:
Friday, June 5: 6 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Saturday, June 6: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday, June 7: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Please note that all who wish to work out will need to print, fill out and sign a waiver. Want to simply take a walk through the facility? Then there's no need for the waiver; simply stop by during business hours. If you wish to shower in the facility between events, you may do so during the hours listed above. Please bring your own towels, toiletries, and shower shoes.

I wish to attend Mass at Egan Chapel of St. Ignatius Loyola at Reunion - what are the times?

A special Reunion Weekend Mass, celebrated by University Chaplain Father Charles Allen, S.J. will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. In addition, Sunday Mass will take place in the Chapel at 11 a.m.

Can I reserve a table of my friends for the Saturday Night Dinner Dance?

There is no assigned or reserved seating for this event. Tables in the tent on Bellarmine Lawn are in sections by class and consist of 10 seats per table.

What is the Reunion Weekend Dress Code?

Saturday Daytime Activities: Casual weather-appropriate attire (please note, much of Saturday's programming is held outside rain or shine).

Evening Dinner Dance: Springtime evening cocktail/"summer wedding" attire is recommended. For the ladies celebrating on Bellarmine Lawn, we also recommend a sweater or wrap and moderate heels or flats.

Can my roommate pick up my registration materials if arriving on campus before me?

For security purposes, and to ensure that you receive all of your materials, we require each alumnus/na to pick up their own registration packet and room keys upon arrival. If extenuating circumstances arise, you may call the Office of Alumni Relations at (203) 254-4280 prior to your arrival to arrange a special pickup.

Can I request a special meal (i.e, gluten-free, vegetarian, etc.)?

At the Taste of Fairfield, we recommend that you speak with the vendors directly for information regarding their offerings. The dinner on Bellarmine Lawn is served buffet-style and menus indicate items that are vegetarian, gluten-free, etc. Please call the Office of Alumni Relations at (203) 254-4280 for more information and/or indicate your needs on your registration form.

Housing Questions:

How is campus housing assigned?

On-campus housing is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited by building by class. Due to ongoing housing renovations and campus construction, housing is subject to change at any time. Anticipated housing locations will be released closer to the registration period.

If I'm not planning on attending the evening activities on campus, can I still stay overnight?

Housing is extremely limited and is only available for alumni and guests registered for the events on Friday and Saturday evening. To stay on Friday night, you must be registered for either a Friday night reception or the Taste of Fairfield. To stay on Saturday night, you must be registered for the Bellarmine Dinner Dance. Room-only reservations will NOT be accepted; no exceptions.

Where can I get my keys?:

Friday housing key pick-up will be near the Barone Campus Center Info Desk from 4 - 10 p.m. Saturday housing key pick-up will be in the Barone Campus Center from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and in Bellarmine Hall from 6:30 - 9 p.m.

Can I pick my roommate(s)?

Yes. You may indicate your roommate request(s) on your registration form. Each roommate must request the other to be placed together. For parties whose roommate requests exceed the accommodations of their rooms (i.e., 3 requests for 2-bed room), we will do our best to house you near each other but this is not a guarantee. Many alumni attend Reunion without a spouse or a guest. Please plan ahead to find a roommate or if necessary, one will be assigned to you. Spots in rooms cannot be held for roommates who have not yet registered. Please note that this also applies to those staying in suite-style rooms (two rooms with a shared bathroom); we cannot hold a side of a suite or guarantee that your requested suitemates will be placed on the other side of your suite if they register at a much later date.

What should I bring with me to stay on campus?

When packing to stay on campus, please remember that campus housing contains only the basics. Lightweight linens, towels, blankets, and pillows will be provided. You may want to bring along hangers, extra blankets, and extra towels. Fans are also recommended, particularly for those staying in a residence hall that is not air conditioned.

Are there blocks of rooms reserved if I wish to stay at a local hotel?

We have reserved a block of rooms at the recently renovated Best Western Plus Fairfield Hotel located at 100 Kings Highway Cutoff in Fairfield. Rooms with one queen bed are available for $109.99 plus tax, and rooms with two queen beds are available at $129.99 plus tax. All rates include a full breakfast. To book a room, call (203) 659-2200 and reference Fairfield University Reunion. These rates are good through May 5, 2020 or until all rooms are claimed, whichever happens first.
