Reunion 2020 Update

Over the past several weeks, we have been forced to make difficult decisions regarding the remainder of the academic year and upcoming events on campus. The most recent of these is the decision to postpone Reunion Weekend, which was scheduled to be held June 5 – 7, 2020. However, we know how much everyone looks forward to this beloved tradition, so we are currently working on alternate plans to celebrate with our reunion classes this fall and will be in touch as details for the rescheduled festivities come together.

The approximately three mile Fun Run around campus has become a Reunion tradition! Children are welcome to participate if accompanied by an adult. Please note our Fun Run does take place rain or shine.

Will the RecPlex be open for use during the weekend?

The RecPlex hours for the weekend are tentatively as follows:

Saturday, June 6: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday, June 7: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Please bring your own towels, toiletries, and shower shoes.

I wish to attend Mass at Egan Chapel of St. Ignatius Loyola at Reunion - what are the times?

A special Reunion Weekend Mass, celebrated by University Chaplain Father Charles Allen, S.J. will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. In addition, Sunday Mass will take place in the Chapel at 11 a.m.

Can I reserve a table of my friends for the Saturday Night Dinner Dance?

There is no assigned or reserved seating for this event. Tables in the tent on Bellarmine Lawn are in sections by class and consist of 10 seats per table.

What is the Reunion Weekend Dress Code?

Saturday Daytime Activities: Casual weather-appropriate attire (please note, much of Saturday's programming is held outside rain or shine).

Evening Dinner Dance: Springtime evening cocktail/"summer wedding" attire is recommended. For the ladies celebrating on Bellarmine Lawn, we also recommend a sweater or wrap and moderate heels or flats.

Can my roommate pick up my registration materials if arriving on campus before me?

For security purposes, and to ensure that you receive all of your materials, we require each alumnus/na to pick up their own registration packet and room keys upon arrival. If extenuating circumstances arise, you may call the Office of Alumni Relations at (203) 254-4280 prior to your arrival to arrange a special pickup.

Can I request a special meal (i.e, gluten-free, vegetarian, etc.)?

At the Taste of Fairfield, we recommend that you speak with the vendors directly for information regarding their offerings. The dinner on Bellarmine Lawn is served buffet-style and menus indicate items that are vegetarian, gluten-free, etc. Please call the Office of Alumni Relations at (203) 254-4280 for more information and/or indicate your needs on your registration form.

Housing Questions:

How is campus housing assigned?

On-campus housing is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited by building by class. Due to a large aniticpated turnout, housing may sell out. Due to ongoing housing renovations and campus construction, housing locations are subject to change at any time. At this time, anticipated housing locations are as follows:

Class of 2015: Traditional rooms (2 people per room) in either Jogues or Regis. Please note, Jogues is air-conditioned; Regis is not. Jogues will be filled first on a first-come, first-served basis.

Classes of 2000, 2005, and 2010: Traditional rooms (2 people per room) in either Campion or McCormick. Both buildings are air-conditioned

Classes of 1985, 1990, and 1995: Suite-style rooms, with 2 two-person bedrooms and a shared bathroom in between, in either Kostka or Claver. Both buildings are air-conditioned.

Classes of 1980 and 1975: Suite-style rooms, with 2 two-person bedrooms and a shared bathroom, in Langguth Hall. The newest residential hall on campus, this building is air-conditioned.

If I'm not planning on attending the evening activities on campus, can I still stay overnight?

Housing is extremely limited and is only available for alumni and guests registered for specific events as follows: To stay on Friday night, you MUST be registered for either a Friday night reception or the Taste of Fairfield. To stay on Saturday night, you MUST be registered for the Bellarmine Dinner Dance. Room-only reservations will NOT be accepted; no exceptions. Checkout time for Friday-night-only room reservations is 4 p.m. on Saturday. Checkout time on Sunday is 12 p.m.

Where can I get my keys?:

Friday housing key pick-up will be near the Barone Campus Center Info Desk from 4 - 10 p.m. Saturday housing key pick-up will be in the Barone Campus Center from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and in Bellarmine Hall from 6:30 - 9 p.m.

Can I pick my roommate(s)?

Yes. You may indicate your roommate request(s) on your registration form. Each roommate must request the other to be placed together. For parties whose roommate requests exceed the accommodations of their rooms (i.e., 3 requests for 2-bed room), we will do our best to house you near each other but this is not a guarantee. Many alumni attend Reunion without a spouse or a guest. Please plan ahead to find a roommate or if necessary, one will be assigned to you. Spots in rooms cannot be held for roommates who have not yet registered. Please note that this also applies to those staying in suite-style rooms (two rooms with a shared bathroom); we cannot hold a side of a suite or guarantee that your requested suitemates will be placed on the other side of your suite if they register at a much later date.

What should I bring with me to stay on campus?

When packing to stay on campus, please remember that campus housing contains only the basics. Lightweight linens, towels, blankets, and pillows will be provided. You may want to bring along hangers, extra blankets, and extra towels. Fans are also recommended, particularly for those staying in a residence hall that is not air conditioned.

Are there blocks of rooms reserved if I wish to stay at a local hotel?

We have reserved a block of rooms at the recently renovated Best Western Plus Fairfield Hotel located at 100 Kings Highway Cutoff in Fairfield. Rooms with one queen bed are available for $109.99 plus tax, and rooms with two queen beds are available at $129.99 plus tax. All rates include a full breakfast. To book a room, call (203) 659-2200 and reference Fairfield University Reunion. These rates are good through May 5, 2020 or until all rooms are claimed, whichever happens first.
