Summer Housing

Fairfield University Student Summer Housing

For Fairfield University students taking classes, holding internships, or working in the area on-campus housing is available from May 26-August 12, 2018.

Students will be housed in a 2-4 bedroom apartment or townhouse. Housing is available on a weekly basis (4-week minimum required*) at the following rates:

$215 per week in a double bedroom


Fairfield University students can sign up for summer housing via our online Summer Housing 2018 Application.

 

*4-week housing minimum will be waived for students taking a summer class during the month of May with proper documentation of class enrollment presented to the Office of Conference & Event Management.

University Sponsored Guest or Visiting Family Housing

A limited number of townhouses will be made available for visiting guests or families this summer. The townhouses are two-story units consisting of two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, dining area, a minimum of 1.5 bathrooms with an extra sink, and plenty of closet/storage space. Townhouses have central air conditioning, cable television access, and wired and wireless internet access.

Camp and Conference Housing

During the summer, many of Fairfield University's residence halls, suites, and apartment complexes are available for overnight camps and conferences. On-campus housing for summer programs is available starting May 26, 2018 through August 12, 2018 and is coordinated through the Office of Conference & Event Management. Please contact the Office of Conference and Event Management at (203) 254-4202 to discuss the types of overnight accommodations available for your summer program.

Non-Fairfield University Student Internship Housing

The campus is within one mile of I-95 and the Fairfield Metro North station, making it an easy commute to many locations like Norwalk, Stamford, and New Haven.

Summer residents can also take advantage of being just an hour away from New York City via public transportation or take weekend trips to Boston, Newport, and many other celebrated New England cities and towns.

Students are offered single bedrooms in shared apartments that can accommodate 4-8 students. Some of the many amenities include:

  • Air-conditioned, furnished accommodations with kitchens
  • Morning and evening shuttle service to and from the Metro North Fairfield train station
  • 24-hour on-call support and security
  • Free access to Fairfield University’s newly renovated state-of-the-art Recreation Complex
  • Cable television access with HBO
  • Campus-wide wireless internet access
  • Free Parking
  • Free laundry facilities
  • All living rooms come furnished with a couch, coffee table, kitchen table, and chairs.
  • Kitchens are equipped with a full-size refrigerator and oven. Bedrooms each contain a twin extra-long bed, wardrobe, dresser, desk, and chair.
  • Free social activities planned for on-campus summer residents

To be eligible for internship housing, students must be either an undergraduate or graduate student at a university who has secured an internship or job for the summer months. Proof of employment and of student enrollment is required to confirm summer housing.

Housing is offered on a weekly basis starting Saturday, May 26, 2018 and ending Sunday, August 12, 2018. To be eligible, a minimum of four consecutive weeks must be reserved.* A limited amount of temporary housing is available prior to May 26 in a traditional residence hall. 

Housing is offered for $345 per week. This includes all utilities, air-conditioning, cable/internet access, and unlimited laundry. It also includes morning and evening shuttle service to the Metro North train station and an on-campus parking permit. A refundable security deposit of $250 is required and must be recieved two weeks prior to arrival.

Applications for summer intern housing are available via the online Summer Intern Housing request form. Note: This form is for non-Fairfield University students only.

Town of Fairfield Fireworks Viewing Party, 7-9:30 p.m.
Meet in the Lower Level of Barone Campus Center for some snacks before we all head up to Bellarmine Lawn to view Fairfield’s Fireworks!
*Bring a chair or blanket for the lawn. Rain date is July 3rd.

Thursday, July 5

Post July 4th Levee Night, 7-11 p.m.
Socialize and relax with fellow interns staying on campus. Pizza is provided, beverages available for purchase.

Saturday, July 7

Trip to the Beach, Noon-4:30 p.m.
Beach shuttles will pick up at 47 Mahan at Noon, 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. Last shuttle back to campus is a 4:30 p.m. Please RSVP to jane.rice@student.fairfield.edu by Thursday, 7/5 at 4 p.m.

Monday, July 9

Italian Style Meal in the Mahan Lounge, 7:30-9 p.m.
Sick of cooking your own meals? We will be providing an Italian family style meal in the Mahan Lounge where you can enjoy food and socialize with others staying on campus.

Tuesday, July 10

Levee Mixer Night, 7-11 p.m.
Socialize and relax with fellow interns staying on campus. Beverages available for purchase.

Wellness Wednesday at the RecPlex, 7:30 p.m.

Don’t feel like going out? Relax with us at a movie night in the Gonzaga Auditorium! Popcorn & snacks provided!
