Charles M. Dombeck A'71, P'05
Chair, 2004-2007

Charles DombeckCharles Dombeck (Chuck) is an organization consultant with particular interests in human resources management strategies, organizational effectiveness, and executive coaching. His career, which spans 32 years, includes seven years in various positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and 22 years at Pfizer, Inc., where Mr. Dombeck held various positions of increasing responsibility in human resources management. He retired from Pfizer as Vice President, Corporate Human Resources, in January 2001. His broad responsibilities at Pfizer included global sales training and organization development, general human resources management support of the U.S. Pharmaceuticals business, and corporate values and diversity. He played a key role in the restructuring of the U.S. Pharmaceuticals division, the creation of five additional field sales forces totaling over 3,000 people, and the establishment of Pfizer's state-of-the-art global training center.

Mr. Dombeck is: Director of YAI, National Institute for People with Disabilities, a $200 million agency providing services to developmentally disabled persons; Chairman, National Institute for People with Disabilities of New Jersey; Director and former Chairman of Clearpool, Inc., a charter school in Brooklyn, New York,; a member of Fairfield University's President's Trustee Advisory Council; a member of the Board of Visitors of the Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy at Duke University; and a member of the Advisory Board of Fairleigh Dickinson University's Silberman College of Business. He also lectures frequently at Florida A&M University.

Mr. Dombeck earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from Fairfield University, Fairfield, Conn., his master's degree in personnel and counseling psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey, and did doctoral studies in applied psychology at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Mr. Dombeck and his wife, Gail, reside in Allendale, New Jersey where they have raised five children.

In addition, to his professional career, Chuck has been very involved in numerous volunteer community organizations, including President and Captain of the Allendale Ambulance Corps, Vice President of the Allendale Recreation Commission, and President of the Allendale Board of Education.
