Nancy P. Lynch, P'95, Chair
Nancy has been a volunteer nearly all of her life and, for the past ten years, has focused her time, talent and energy in the field of healthcare. Awarded Fairfield County's Volunteer of the Year in 2000, and the first Presidents Award at Greenwich Hospital in 2002, Nancy currently sits on the Board of Trustees at Greenwich Hospital and the VNA Hospice Foundation in Vero Beach, Florida. In addition, Nancy has been involved in the day to day care of patients with her time spent volunteering in the Greenwich Hospital Emergency Room, staffing the hotline dealing with the elderly for the Greenwich Family Center, or her work with patients and families at the Vero Beach Hospice House. Nancy is also a tremendous fundraiser. She led the highly successful capital campaign for Greenwich Hospital as its Chairman, raising over $67 million through private donations.
Nancy's expertise as a fundraiser is complemented by her natural inclination to teach this skill to her Advancement colleagues and other volunteers at Fairfield. She played a significant role in designing and implementing a two-day board retreat that helped to launch the new Board. The momentum she nurtured as chair of the School of Nursing Advisory Board resulted in gifts in excess of $900,000 toward the $1 million Resource Center fundraising goal established as the Board's first fundraising priority. For this mentorship, and her extraordinary commitment to Fairfield University, she was awarded the 2007 James Daly School of Nursing Award.
Nancy, a graduate of Centenary College (1965), currently lives with her husband, Roger Lynch '63 (retired General Partner of Goldman Sachs and Co.), in Greenwich, Conn., and Vero Beach, Florida. They are the parents of three grown children: Roger, Stephen, a 1995 graduate of Fairfield University, and Aimee.
