Alison Kris, Ph.D., RN


Image: KrisAlison Kris, RN, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing. She completed her BSN at the University of Pennsylvania and earned a Ph.D. from the University of California, San Francisco. In 2002, she was awarded a John A. Hartford Foundation Post-Doctoral fellowship to continue her research examining issues of staffing and symptom management in nursing homes. Dr. Kris has published in several leading journals, and her work has been widely cited both nationally and internationally. She has served as an expert reviewer for the Journals of Gerontology and the Journal of Applied Gerontology and is the President of the Mu Chi chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International. In addition, Dr. Kris is the mother of three young girls (ages 6, 4, and 2) and enjoys competing in triathlons.
