Fairfield University's Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies departments use the latest in health equipment and innovative classroom settings to provide a practical and engaging education for its students. The school offers students a strong liberal arts education along with the theory-based knowledge and skills to work in the expanding fields of nursing and health studies. Students grow personally and professionally and become committed and compassionate nurses, capable of providing professional care to people in any setting.

Administration & Faculty

At the Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies, we pride ourselves on the the excellence of our program and faculty. Faculty members are experts in the field, and work diligently to provide a simulation-focused approach to their teaching. Faculty advisors work closely with students to provide academic advice, individualized attention, and career planning. Small classes are a key component to the program, simulating clinical practice to give students a real-world sense of life in the industry.

Community Engagement

Fairfield University's Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies has many local community partnerships that offer rich opportunities for students and faculty to participate in nursing practice in a variety of clinical settings. Some of these partnerships include Bridgeport Hospital, Yale-New Haven Hospital, Silver HIll Hospital, Fairfield Local Schools, VA Connecticut Healthcare System and many more.

Faculty Publications

Our Egan faculty have been published widely and generate readership globally. Fairfield Egan faculty publications have been downloaded more than 30,000 times from 140+ countries.

Study Abroad

Fairfield's Office of Study Abroad oversees seven of the study abroad locations, with numerous opportunities to make each of them your own. Global Fairfield offers a variety of nursing specific programs: Brisbane, Australia; Galway, Ireland; San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Workshops & Certificates

Fairfield University Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies offers workshops and specialty trainings in trauma and resilience. All programs are on campus in Fairfield, CT.

Facilities

With a long history of preparing men and women for careers in the expanding fields of medicine and health studies and ranked as one of the nation’s best nursing schools, the new center opened in Fall 2017. Rising to four floors, it expanded the University’s current facility to over 70,000 square feet, four times the size of the previous facility. The new building features a state-of-the-art simulation center, advanced learning environments and equipment, including enhanced clinical settings and workspaces like the anesthesia simulation room, a control room and modern labs. The new school is home to the Kanarek Center for Palliative Care Nursing Education.
