Engineering Student SocietyThe Engineering Student Society (ESS) is the umbrella organization for several student branches of professional engineering societies, such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers,(ASME), the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, (IEEE), including Computer and Software Engineers, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). ESS is chartered by the Fairfield University Student Government. In addition, SWE is recognized nationally as a collegiate chapter.
The ESS officers for 2006-2007 are Anthony Kunz, president, John Lee, vice president, Jessica Vigliotti, treasurer, and Chris Swetcky, secretary. The SWE officers are Maria delSolar, president, Melissa Ternier, vice president, Jessica Kurose, treasurer, and Jenna Turocy, secretary.
The faculty advisor for ESS is Dr. Jerry Sergent, chair of the electrical engineering program.
ESS holds meetings monthly and provides a forum for advancing engineering knowledge and establishing special bonds among its student members. |
