Cancellations Due to Inclement Weather

As a residential campus, Fairfield University will hold classes and other activities whenever possible. Therefore, cancellations of classes due to inclement weather such as snow or ice should be kept to a minimum, and students should plan accordingly. Individual faculty or instructors who may have a significant commute to campus may be forced to cancel their individual classes on a particular day while all other classes are in session.

When classes are cancelled due to snow, ice, or other inclement weather conditions, information is communicated on local radio stations, television stations, and the University website (www.fairfield.edu). Radio stations that carry information about cancellations include:

WVOF 88.5 FM - Fairfield University
                WICC 600 AM - Bridgeport
                WEBE 107.9 FM - Westport
                WEZN 99.9 FM - Bridgeport
                WNLK 1350 AM - Norwalk
                WEFX 95.9 FM - Norwalk
WELI 960 AM - New Haven
                WSTC 1400 AM - Stamford
                WTIC 1080 AM - Hartford

Students may also call the University Switchboard at 254-4000 to hear a taped message.
