Computing & Network Services

The Office of Computing & Network Services (CNS) is staffed by University personnel. It makes computer, network, and communication resources available to all students, faculty, and staff in order to maximize the use of technological innovations in both the learning and business processes. Fairfield University supports Windows-based and Macintosh systems and can easily integrate both into the campus network and computing environment.

CNS maintains public, instructional, and specialty labs across campus. In addition, the office provides network connections in the student residences, so that all resident students can connect a personal computer to the campus network and the Internet. In order to access the campus network in the student residences, students must meet and adhere to minimum system requirements, anti-virus software, or other configurations as established by the University. Violation of such requirements will result in loss of connection privileges in that student residence and potentially other public access connections across campus.

CNS has established discount computer purchasing programs with Dell and Apple. Each vendor has information as to Fairfield's minimum specifications and recommended systems. Detailed information is available on the University website.
