E-Mail to All Students Regarding Voter Registration (September, 2007)

September 10, 2007

To: All Undergraduate, Graduate, and Part-time Students
From: Office of the Dean of Students
Re: Voter Registration and Elections 2007

I am writing to provide you with some information pertaining to upcoming state or local elections in November. All students are strongly encouraged to participate in the electoral process and exercise their right to vote. Full-time undergraduate students who live on campus or off campus in the town are eligible to register locally and vote for local and state representatives. Students who choose not to register locally, and maintain voter registration in another state or municipality, are encouraged to check the deadlines and procedures for absentee ballots in that specific state or municipality. Undergraduate commuters, graduate students, and part-time students should register with their local municipality.

Students can pick up voter registration forms from the Office of Student Activities & Facilities in the Barone Campus Center, 2nd floor. Please bring a valid StagCard so that registration forms are available and distributed primarily to students. In addition, student clubs, such as the College Democrats and College Republicans, may choose to organize activities promoting the upcoming elections and voting. Information about such activities will be advertised by the clubs.

In addition to the voter registration forms available in the Office of Student Activities & Facilities, the following sources of information and forms are recommended:

Town of Fairfield
