Message to Students

Dear Students,

We would like to join many others in welcoming to campus all new students, including the undergraduate Class of '11 and new graduate and part-time students, and welcoming back to campus all returning undergraduate, graduate, and part-time students.

This handbook applies to all students of Fairfield University enrolled in any of the University's six colleges and schools. In addition to the policies and procedures contained herein, this handbook provides a wealth of information about services and resources available to you. Please take some time to familiarize yourselves with this information and use this handbook over the course of the academic year.

The Office of the Dean of Students is not simply the office that administers the student conduct system. Rather, it strives to serve all students of the University, is concerned primarily with students' needs and well-being outside of the traditional classroom, and facilitates collaboration and integration among other student life, student service, and academic units. In addition, the office assists in providing numerous co-curricular programs and leadership development opportunities in keeping with the Jesuit ideals of "cura personalis" - the education of the whole person - and the development of the mind, body, and spirit. Whenever students have questions and do not know where to go, the Dean of Students Office is generally a good place to find out where to begin.

Welcome to (or back to) Fairfield University! We are glad you are here, and may you have a most successful year.

Sincerely,

Office of the Dean of Students
