Notice to Rising Juniors and Seniors Regarding Beach Leases
To: Members of the Class of 2009 and 2010
From: The Office of the Dean of Students
Re: Beach Leases
In the upcoming weeks, the Office of Residence Life will be conducting the lottery for all students who wish to be released to live on the beach or off campus during the 2008-2009 academic year.
You will be receiving a wealth of information from that office concerning the lottery, but it is critical at this juncture to remind students of an important point regarding the signing of beach leases: Students entering the lottery are NOT automatically guaranteed a release to live off campus. Until students are notified of the results of the lottery on October 29, 2007, all students are considered by Fairfield University to be on-campus residents and will be held to their obligation to reside on campus. Only those students who are released on October 29, 2007 to live off campus should sign leases. No leases should be signed until you have confirmed that you have been released. If you sign a lease and are not released by Fairfield University to live off campus, Fairfield University is not obligated to honor that lease.
There will be a question and answer session on October 11, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. in the Barone Campus Center room 200 if anyone has questions about the lottery process.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
The Office of the Dean of Students
