Academic Advisors

Full-time faculty members, as well as select adjunct faculty and administrators, serve as academic advisors. Undergraduate students are assigned an academic advisor at the beginning of the academic year. Upon declaration of a major, the student will be assigned an advisor in his or her major department. Advisors are available to assist students with educational, career, and personal guidance. Students should make appointments to see their advisors at least a few times each semester, not just before course selection and registration for the following semester. Each advisor's office location, phone number, and e-mail address can be found through the directory on the University website. If a student feels he or she is not being advised in a satisfactory manner, the student should report the matter to the chair of the academic department or the dean's office of their college or school.

Graduate and part-time students may be assigned an advisor in their academic dean's office or an academic department, depending upon the college or school.
