I. Schedule (Itinerary is subject to change)

August 29-30/January 23-24
Arrival and check-in at your apartment. You may wish to book your flight through STA Travel at 877-777-8717 (toll-free) or Waldorf Travel Service at 800-328-7266.
Please note that the cost of airfare is NOT included in the program.

Please note: A number of classes (see course descriptions for details) include academic fieldtrips (held on Fridays) to various sites

 

II. Cost

Comprehensive Package: $14,800 (cost subject to adjustment in response to international currency fluctuations)

Included in the package is:

  • 15 weeks in Syracuse (Sept.-Dec. or Jan.-May)
  • Tuition for up to 16 credit hours of solid academic course offerings comparable to your home college
  • Organized services from application to completion, with friendly, reliable counseling
  • On-site Program assistance
  • On-line access to Fairfield University library holdings and services
  • Carefully selected living accommodations in clean, pleasant lodgings in the historic center of Syracuse.
  • Program inclusive excursions - faculty led historical orientation day tours of Syracuse, Catania, Agrigento and Palermo
  • Academic fieldtrips (program inclusive, depending on classes) to the significant sites of Sicily
  • Three day excursion to Naples, Capri, Pompeii
  • Orientation: three day orientation program
  • Cultural activities
  • Visa service for qualified students (depending on ruling of Italian Consulate)
  • Insurance (including full medical coverage, medical emergency evacuation)
  • Pickup at Catania Airport for students arriving during suggested times

Additional Travel Options
Weekend excursions to the Aeolian Islands, Naples & Pompeii, and Taormina. (each approx. $400 USD)

Payment Schedule
Application Fee: $50
Program deposit, due opon receipt of acceptance letter: $1,000
Final balance: due 60 days before group departure.
A housing deposit of $500 is collected before departure. $50 is retained for cleaning, and $450 is refundable, less any damages.

III. Deadlines
Early application is recommended. There are a limited number of spaces, and these are assigned through a rolling admissions process. In the past, our program has filled BEFORE the deadline; classes sometimes fill to capacity before deadline. All students will be accepted on a space available basis. After deadline, call us for information.
