Course Selection and Pre-Approval

Actual registration is conducted once you arrive in Galway. In fact, you do not have to make your final choices for about two weeks after classes begin. You should plan to attend all the classes that interest you, in effect "shopping around," and then make an informed decision about your final choice. This is the procedure for all students at NUIG.  

You do need to pre-select courses, however, and obtain course pre-approval. Using NUIG's website, you should identify 8-12 courses appropriate for you. Print out the course descriptions, and then meet with the appropriate person. For full information on this process, contact the Study Abroad Office. If you make any course changes once you arrive in Galway, you will have to obtain approval before committing to new courses. Be sure you have authorization, in writing, before making a final decision.
