Reunion Weekend Registration and Check-In
Barone Campus Center
Check-in and pick up your nametags, tickets, room assignments, and schedules. Locations and times are subject to change between now and Reunion Weekend. (Registration will close briefly from 5:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to shift locations. Registration for Classes of '63 and '68 will move to Alumni House; registration for Classes of '73 to '03 will move to Bellarmine Hall.)

Fun Run (or Walk!)

Put on your running shoes for the three-mile Fun Run (or walk) around campus - rain or shine!

Media Center Open House
Xavier Hall, Ground Floor
Explore the Fairfield University Media Center on an educational tour of the facility that includes two television studios, 30 digital editing systems, a sound studio, and a mobile uplink production truck. Meet the experienced, award-winning staff who produce video, audio, and web-based programming, as well as digital graphics for major presentations.

Fairfield from Red to Green-Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHP) Tour
Central Utility Facility
Visit the new CHP facility which allows Fairfield to produce its own electricity via turbine.

Bellarmine Hall Tour
Bellarmine Hall
Rev. Charles Allen, S.J., will conduct a special guided tour of Bellarmine Hall. Come and learn the history of this architectural gem.

President Jeffrey P. von Arx, S.J., and Trustees/Reunion Chairs Roger Lynch '63 and Sheila Davidson '83 will present an update on the University.

Reunion Barbeque
Barone Campus Center, Oak Room and Grounds (rain or shine)
Enjoy refreshments and the best barbeque around, a disc jockey spinning your favorite tunes, and entertainment for the kids-complete with our own ice cream truck. (Rain location: Barone Campus Center)

Rev. Charles Allen, S.J., will lead a leisurely and informative tour of the campus - past, present, and future.

"What's Up with Those Turkeys?"

Dr. Brian Walker, assistant professor of biology, will tell us more about the creatures who share the Fairfield University campus with us-from the obvious and unavoidable wild turkeys and Canadian geese, to deer, foxes, coyotes, and several bird species.

Sportsmanship: Somebody's Watching You
Fairfield University Athletic Director Gene Doris and Sacred Heart University Athletic Director Don Cook '63 will discuss the role of sportsmanship in today's collegiate environment.

Kids Stags Sports Clinics
Walsh Athletic Center
Get some tips from the pros! Fairfield University coaches and varsity athletes will conduct instructional basketball and soccer clinics, for boys and girls ages 7-12.

3:00 p.m.
Presidential Politics
Aloysius P. Kelley, S.J. Center, Presentation Room
Dr. John Orman, professor of politics, is an expert on the United States Presidency and the author of several books, including Presidential Accountability and Comparing Presidential Behavior, as well as the co-author of Celebrity Politics. Join him for a discussion of presidential politics and the upcoming election.

Grand Central Terminal
Join Dr. Kurt Schlichting '70, professor of sociology, for a discussion about his book, Grand Central Terminal: Railroads, Architecture and Engineering in New York. This book was the basis of a PBS History Series documentary.

Reunion Weekend Memorial Service
Egan Chapel of St. Ignatius Loyola
Alumni Chaplain Rev. W. Laurence O'Neil, S.J., will conduct a special Memorial Service in remembrance of your deceased classmates.

5:15 pm-6:00 p.m.
Please note that registration closes briefly during this time to change location. Registration for Classes of '63 and '68 will move from Barone Campus Center to Alumni House; registration for Classes of '73 to '03 will move from Barone Campus Center to Bellarmine Hall.

Due to limited seating, Saturday evening events require advance reservations. We cannot accommodate walk-ins or children.

University President Jeffrey P. von Arx, S.J., will host a reception and dinner for the 40th and 45th Reunion classes. (After dinner, you may join family and friends under the tent on Bellarmine Lawn.)

Enjoy a gourmet buffet dinner, then dance the night away! Modestly-priced cash bars and complimentary soft drinks will be available throughout the evening.

Continental Breakfast

Relax and enjoy the Sunday newspaper with fresh cup of coffee and continental breakfast.

Reunion Mass
Egan Chapel of St. Ignatius Loyola
Mass will be celebrated by University President Jeffrey von Arx, S.J., to honor all alumni celebrating Reunion and remember deceased classmates.

Noon
Reunion Weekend Concludes
Check-out time is noon. Remember to return your keys to the housing desks located in either the residence halls, townhouse #67, or at the continental breakfast in the Barone Campus Center, Lower Level.


Important Reunion Information ...

All Reunion Weekend events require advance reservations. The deadline for all reservations is Wednesday, May 21. No tickets will be mailed. Register online to receive an e-mail confirmation.

Cancellation Policy
Refunds will be offered only for cancellations made by noon on Wednesday, May 21.

Saturday Night Dinner Dance on the Great Lawn

The Dinner Dance will be set up in sections by class with tables of 10. There is no reserved seating. Springtime evening cocktail attire is recommended. For ladies, a sweater or wrap and moderate heels or flats is also recommended. This is an adult-only event.

Campus Housing

  • Rooms are only available for alumni and guests attending the Saturday evening dinners. Room-only reservations will not be accepted. We regret we cannot provide overnight accommodations for children.
  • On-campus housing is assigned on a seniority basis as follows: Classes of '63, '68, '73, '78, '83, and '88 to townhouses; Class of '93 to Kostka; Classes of '98 and '03 to a Quad residence. Due to ongoing housing renovations, accommodations may be changed.
  • Many alumni attend reunion without a spouse or guest. Housing is extremely limited, so please plan ahead to find a roommate. You will be assigned a roommate if one is not indicated on your registration.
  • Remember that campus housing contains only the basics. Linens, towels, blankets, and pillows will be provided. You may want to bring along alarm clocks, hangers, extra blankets, and extra towels.

Key Returns
Sunday 8:00 a.m.-Noon
Return keys to one of the following housing desks located in the residence halls, townhouse #67, or at the continental breakfast in the Barone Campus Center, Lower Level. According to campus security policies, if you depart campus with a key we must replace your key and the corresponding lock; so please be considerate and return your keys.

Smoking Policy
Smoking is prohibited in all campus buildings and under the tents.

Hotel Accommodations
If you prefer not to stay on campus, visit www.fairfield.edu/hotels for local hotel listings. Special rates are available for Fairfield alumni Reunion Weekend at Fairfield Best Western, Trumbull Marriott, Shelton Courtyard by Marriott, Stratford Homewood Suites, and the Doubletree Hotel Norwalk.

Messages
There are no phones in the campus rooms. In case of emergency, please call the Public Safety Department at (203) 254-4090. Every effort will be made to deliver messages as soon as they are received.

Children
Children and grandchildren are welcome at the picnic and Mass. Please be sure to include children's names in your registration. Children are not permitted at the Saturday evening dinners. Unfortunately, due to limited space, we are unable to provide overnight on-campus accommodations for children.

Please know that Reunion Weekend is not a fundraiser for the University. We strive to contain costs as much as possible to accommodate all budgets without compromising the activities that we offer.

Special Needs
Dietary requirements, food allergies, and escort services or parking for the physically challenged can be arranged with advance notice. Please call us with any special needs at (203) 254-4280.

Visit the bookstore for a full array of Fairfield merchandise. Stop by the game room for a round of pool or ping pong, or try your luck at foosball or shuffleboard. The Athletic Hall of Fame display is located across from the bookstore.

Relax with a newspaper, browse the magazines and journal collections, check your e-mail, or rediscover a favorite book. While you're there, view the exhibit, "America 1968: The Whole World Was Watching."

Coffee, lattes, smoothies, and snacks are available for purchase. Be sure to view the Alumni Professional Achievement and Alumni Service Awards plaques located outside Jazzman's.

There are many local area attractions for the whole family to enjoy, including the Fairfield Museum and History Center, the Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Fairfield, Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo, Stepping Stones Museum for Children, and The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk.
