Off-Campus

Seniors (and juniors depending upon availability) may request a release from their campus housing obligation in order to live off campus. Only those students who are granted this release through a lottery selection process may move off campus. Fairfield does not sponsor, endorse, or provide housing off campus. Students, therefore, must search for and rent properties on their own.

All students approved to live off campus status must provide their local address and contact phone number to the Office of the Dean of Students and may be required to attend additional informational sessions or meetings before or during the academic year. Furthermore, the student conduct code applies equally both on and off campus.

Since only a limited number of students are released to live off campus each year, students are strongly advised to resist the tempation or pressure and not enter into or sign rental agreements before being approved to live off campus. Doing so may carry serious financial consequences.
